The ever-popular Wagon R from Maruti Suzuki might be getting another mid-cycle update, as the spotted test mule suggests, acquired with its safety features, expect improvements in powertrains, perhaps even more aesthetics. The rear end receives a makeover with a new bumper design on the Wagon R prototype. Horizontal plastic cladding joins the party on the revised Wagon R bumper, in contrast, reflectors find new placements along the vertical edges of the bumper.
Taillights assembly remains largely unchanged compared to the current model, except for a subtle tweak to the blacked-out finish. Details remain limited, but speculations suggest the front end might receive its share of cosmetic revisions alongside the refreshed rear bumper.

Engine choices for the existing Wagon R include a 1.0-litre petrol with a CNG option and a 1.2-litre petrol, both paired with manual and AMT transmission. Furthermore, Maruti Suzuki showcased a flex-fuel-powered Wagon R at the Auto Expo, potentially arriving on Indian roads by 2024.
