The Toyota Fortuner is a popular SUV in Indonesia and Toyota announces 100% bioethanol-powered Fortuner. Toyota’s first flex-fuel Fortuner is a big deal. Although, Toyota Fortuner’s flex-fuel engine is a 2.7L, 4-cylinder bioethanol-modified engine.
Bioethanol, a renewable fuel, is made from sugarcane. It is a cleaner-burning fuel than gasoline, and it produces fewer emissions.
The Toyota Fortuner flex-fuel SUV is currently only available in Indonesia, but Toyota has said that it is considering bringing the SUV to other markets in the future. The introduction of the Fortuner flex-fuel SUV is a sign of Toyota’s commitment to developing more sustainable vehicles.

Toyota showcased the Corolla Altis Hybrid in India as a pilot project to test flex-fuel-powered cars in the country. The model showcased was a flex-fuel E85 demonstrator.
The Toyota Fortuner Flexy Fuel produces 163 horsepower and 243 Newton-meters of torque, which is 3 horsepower and 2 Newton-meters less than the regular petrol-powered SUV.
Toyota showcased an RWD automatic Fortuner in Indonesia.
Apart from a unique livery that highlights its green credentials, there are no other changes to this version of the Fortuner.
