Tata Sierra Near-Production Concept Revealed at Auto Expo 2025

Tata Motors unveiled the internal combustion engine version of the Sierra concept SUV at Auto Expo 2025. Now in near-production form, the revamped Tata Sierra is set to launch in India later this year. Similar to much of Tata’s lineup, it will offer petrol, diesel, and all-electric powertrain options.

Tata Sierra ICE Design Highlights
The Tata Sierra ICE closely resembles its all-electric counterpart, with only minor design variations. These include a slightly modified grille and distinct alloy wheels fitted with 195/65 R19 tires. Both versions share key visual elements, such as the iconic curved rear-side windows, squared wheel arches, and a high-set bonnet, reminiscent of the original Sierra. Adding a fresh touch, the ICE version debuts in a striking bright yellow color, creating a sharp contrast with the black cladding. Inside, it features three screens and an illuminated four-spoke steering wheel. The ICE model is expected to be powered by 1.5-liter turbo-petrol and 2.0-liter diesel engine options.

Tata Sierra Interior and Features
The near-production Tata Sierra boasts a tech-forward interior with three 12.3-inch screens, including a digital instrument cluster, a central infotainment display, and a passenger-side touchscreen. Key interior elements include a four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo and ambient lighting. The Sierra is expected to be offered in both 4- and 5-seater configurations.

Top-spec variants are likely to come loaded with premium features, such as a Harman sound system, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, and ventilated front seats. On the safety front, the SUV is expected to include 6 airbags, 360-degree cameras, electronic stability control (ESC), and Level 2 ADAS capabilities.

Tata Sierra Petrol and Diesel Engine Options
Built on Tata’s ATLAS architecture, the Sierra is set to offer a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine delivering 170 hp and 280 Nm of torque, along with a 2.0-liter diesel engine. The diesel unit, potentially shared with the Harrier and Safari, may retain the same 170 hp and 350 Nm configuration.

Both manual and automatic transmission options will be available, and the Sierra could stand out with an optional AWD system. According to earlier reports, the Sierra EV is expected to launch before the petrol and diesel variants, which are slated to arrive in the market in the latter half of this year.
