Tata Punch EV to get front charging port? Spy shots suggest so

Spy shots of the Tata Punch EV have emerged, showing the subcompact SUV with a charging port on the front bumper. First sighting of Punch EV with front charging port hints at Tata offering this feature.

The front charging port is a relatively rare feature on electric vehicles, but it is becoming more common. Front charging port: SUV can be charged from either side in tight parking spaces.

The Tata Punch EV is expect to  launched in India in early 2023. The Punch EV has a 30.2 kWh battery and 136 hp motor, with a range of up to 300 km.

The spy shots show that the Punch EV will be the first Tata electric vehicle to have a charging port on the front bumper. Other than that, there are no other visible changes in the spy shots.

The Punch EV will have the new two-spoke steering wheel from Curvv and Nexon facelift. Test mule has 7-inch touchscreen, but production model may get 10.25-inch touchscreen.

Tata Motors has recently crossed the 100,000 electric vehicle (EV) sales milestone in India in five years. It took 44 months to sell the first 10,000 units, 15 months to sell the next 40,000 units, and only nine months to sell the remaining 50,000 units. The launch of the Punch EV could accelerate these numbers even further.

Although, Punch EV is ALFA-based Gen 2 EV, ICE conversion with major mods. Punch EV likely to use Ziptron powertrain: liquid-cooled battery, PMSM, front-wheel drive.

Punch EV may get var batt sizes like Tigor, Tiago, Nexon EVs.
