Skoda Auto India has started accepting unofficial bookings for the Skoda Superb, ahead of its launch in the country. The bookings are done at a token amount of Rs. 50,000.
The Superb was discontinue in India in 2020 due to the BS6 emission norms. However, the company has now decided to bring back the car in a limited number of units.
The Superb will be power by a 2.0-liter TSI petrol engine that produces 190PS and 320Nm of torque. It will be mate to a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission.
The car is expect to price in the range of Rs. 30 lakh to Rs. 35 lakh. It will compete with the likes of the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord and Hyundai Sonata.
The Superb is a popular car in India and is known for its spacious interior, comfortable ride and powerful engine. The return of the car is expect to welcomed by the Indian car buyers.
The unofficial bookings for the Superb are being done at select Skoda dealerships across India. The company is expect to announce the official launch date of the car soon.
In addition to the petrol engine, the Superb could also be offer with a diesel engine in India. The diesel engine is likely to be a 2.0-liter TDI unit that produces 150PS and 340Nm of torque.
The Superb is also expect to come with a number of features, such as a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 6-speaker sound system.
The safety features on the Superb are likely to include six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP and hill hold assist.

Skoda India will bring back the current-generation Superb sedan in the country in limited numbers in the coming months, according to sources. The sales of the current-generation Superb were discontinue in India due to the implementation of stringent BS6 Phase II emission norms that came into effect on April 1, 2023.
The Skoda Superb will be available with a single 2.0-liter turbocharge petrol engine and ADAS features, including a 360-degree camera. It will be launch in a top-spec L&K variant only.
Unlike the previous model, the new Skoda Superb will not be locally assemble in India. Instead, it will be fully import as a completely built unit (CBU). This is because the government of India allows manufacturers to import up to 2,500 units of any right-hand-drive vehicle falling under the M and L category without any homologation requirement.
The upcoming Skoda Superb will be pack with features and the Czech automaker will only reintroduce it in the top-of-the-line L&K trim.
The Superb will also get advance driver assistance systems (ADAS) for the first time in a Skoda in India, including lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control with speeds up to 210 kilometers per hour (kph). It will also get park assist with a 360-degree camera.
