Mahindra to reveal a wave of 16 new SUVs’ by 2030.

Mahindra is making a big push into SUVs, planning to launch 16 new models by 2030. This includes both gasoline-powered and electric vehicles. Nine of the latest models will be SUVs with gasoline engines, with six being entirely new designs and three being updates to existing models like the recently launched XUV 3XO. The remaining seven vehicles will be brand-new electric

Mahindra has been on a roll releasing new SUVs in India, with the XUV 3XO being their latest offering. Customers can expect deliveries to begin on May 26th.

  • Mahindra isn’t neglecting its popular SUV lineup, even though they’re investing heavily in electric vehicles (EVs). As we reported last year, the company plans to strengthen its existing gasoline-powered SUV offerings.

Mahindra is kicking off its lineup of six brand new SUVs with the highly anticipated Thar 5-door. This upcoming model, possibly named Thar Armada, will borrow heavily from the existing Thar 3-door and Scorpio N in terms of its basic structure and engines. It might even offer a choice of three different engines!

Gear up for the return of the iconic Mahindra Scorpio – but with a twist! The pickup version, unveiled as a concept last year, is likely to be one of the new Mahindra SUVs. It’s expected to hit the roads of South Africa first, followed by other international markets before finally arriving in India.

Mahindra is developing a brand new platform called U171. This platform will be the foundation for a whole family of vehicles, including a completely redesigned Bolero SUV and a new seven-seater version based on the Bolero. But that’s not all! Sources say Mahindra has even more in the works for this platform, with plans for several new SUV body styles and pickups.

Details on the remaining Mahindra ICE SUVs are scarce. However, based on their hints, two of the mid-cycle refreshes are likely for the XUV700 (launched in August 2021) and the Scorpio N (launched in June 2022).

While Mahindra hasn’t revealed specific dates for the mid-cycle updates, their recent trademarking of “XUV 7XO” hints it could be the new name for the refreshed XUV700 (similar to how XUV300 became XUV3XO). Mahindra also trademarked “XUV 1XO” and “XUV 5XO,” but details on these potential new models remain a mystery.

The Indian automaker is making a strong push into the electric vehicle (EV) market with seven brand-new electric SUVs planned. These “born EVs” will be built on a new platform called INGLO and are expected to hit Indian roads by the end of this year or early next year. Leading the charge will be familiar names with a twist: the XUV.e8 and XUV.e9 (electric versions of the XUV models) along with the BE.05 SUV. Get ready to see a future of Mahindra powered by batteries!

While Mahindra is going big on all-new electric SUVs, they haven’t forgotten about their off-road enthusiasts! The company also previewed a thrilling concept last year: the Thar EV. This electric version of the iconic Thar promises adventure with an eco-friendly twist.

Mahindra’s new electric SUVs boast batteries ranging from 60kWh to 80kWh. These batteries can be fast-charged up to 175kW, giving you an 80% charge in under 30 minutes (depending on the model). The larger 80kWh battery is expected to deliver a driving range of up to 450km under the WLTP cycle, a standardized test for electric vehicle range. Mahindra’s electric SUVs will offer both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations, depending on the specific model you choose.
