Lotus Emira debuts in India with prices starting at ₹3.22 crore.
The Lotus Emira sports car has been launched in India with a starting price of ₹3.22 crore (ex-showroom) for the base Turbo variant. As Lotus’ sole ICE-powered model in the country, the lightweight, mid-engine Emira reflects the brand’s iconic design and engineering. It debuted alongside the Emeya, an electric hyper-GT, which joins the Eletre electric SUV in Lotus’ Indian lineup. Exclusive Motors, Lotus Cars’ official partner in India, also unveiled the flagship Lotus Centre at New Delhi’s World Trade Centre.
Key features of the Emira include:
V6 and inline 4-cylinder petrol engine options.
Three variants: Turbo, Turbo SE, and V6.
No direct competitors in India.
Lotus Emira Powertrain and Specifications
The Lotus Emira in India comes with two engine options: a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder AMG unit and a Toyota-sourced 3.5-litre supercharged V6. The AMG engine is available in two power outputs: 365hp/430Nm (Turbo) and 406hp/480Nm (Turbo SE). The V6 delivers 406 hp and 420 Nm of torque.
Both engines are mounted transversely and drive the rear axle. The Toyota V6 can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or an automatic transmission, while the AMG unit is exclusively mated to an 8-speed DCT gearbox.
The Emira has a minimum weight of 1,405 kg. In its fastest variant, the Turbo SE, it accelerates from 0-100kph in 4 seconds and achieves a top speed of 290kph. The Turbo SE also features a launch control system.
Lotus Emira Design and Colors
The Lotus Emira boasts striking sports car proportions, drawing clear inspiration from its larger sibling, the Evija. The front end, with its uniquely designed headlamps and bonnet scoops, strongly reflects the Evija’s styling. Key design features include prominent side intakes, short overhangs, and muscular haunches. At the rear, flat C-shaped LED tail lights are connected by an LED brake light positioned above the rear vents and dual exhaust outlets.
Customization options are available for wheel finishes and exterior branding. The Emira Turbo and V6 are offered in Vivid Red as standard, while the Turbo SE comes in Zinc Grey. The Turbo SE also features exclusive 20-inch Satin Grey wheels.
Lotus Emira Interior and Features
The Lotus Emira’s interior is centered around a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, complemented by a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display. It includes modern conveniences like a multifunction steering wheel, a premium 10-channel KEF sound system, optional 12-way adjustable sports seats, cruise control, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The fit, finish, and material quality are notably impressive.

Designed for simplicity, the cabin offers easy access to controls and information, with physical buttons for climate control and drive mode selection—an essential feature for a sports car. Practicality is addressed with ample storage options, including cupholders, door pockets, a central storage box, open space beneath the center console, and rear storage for soft bags. Customers can also personalize the interior with various color and branding options.
The Emira represents a final chapter for Lotus as the brand transitions to electrified models, including fully electric vehicles in the future. With a starting price of ₹3.22 crore (ex-showroom), it is on the expensive side for an entry-level sports car. However, it faces no direct competition in India, especially with the Porsche 718 Cayman no longer available. Notably, the Emira has already been exclusively test-driven in India.
