Kia has launched the updated 2026 version of its flagship all-electric EV9 SUV in the United States. The latest model brings improved range for certain variants and introduces a brand-new Nightfall Edition, which features unique design touches inside and out, along with enhanced performance.
Highlights:
The Nightfall Edition includes a Boost mode that increases torque for a more powerful drive.
The EV9 is offered in four different variants in the U.S., while the Indian market continues to receive only the fully loaded GT-Line trim.
Kia has also shared updated range figures for the 2026 EV9 lineup.
In the Indian market, Kia offers the EV9 only in the fully loaded GT-Line variant. Meanwhile, in the United States, customers can choose from four other trims: Land, Wind, Light Long Range (LR), and Light Standard Range (SR). Among these, the GT-Line variant benefits the most from the 2026 update, with its estimated driving range increasing by 16.1 km to reach 451 km (as per Kia’s internal estimate; EPA-certified figures may vary). For comparison, the ARAI-certified range for the EV9 in India stands at 561 km. The Land and Wind variants now offer 455 km of range — a 4.82 km improvement — while the Light LR trim sees a slight bump of 1.6 km, totaling 491 km. The Light SR uses a 76.1kWh battery, whereas all other versions come equipped with a larger 99.8kWh pack.

2026 Kia EV9 Nightfall Edition: What’s New?
Exclusively available with the Land variant, the new Nightfall Edition gives the EV9 a bold, dark-themed look. It features blacked-out 20-inch alloy wheels and darkened exterior badges. Unlike typical black editions seen in India, this model introduces a new Roadrider Brown paint option, giving it a unique appeal. On the inside, the cabin continues the dark aesthetic, with black accents on the dashboard and special stitching exclusive to this edition. Both six- and seven-seat versions get this interior styling.
Performance-wise, the Nightfall Edition also includes a Boost mode that increases torque by 100Nm, bringing it to 700 Nm, which is on par with the flagship GT-Line variant.
