Hyundai i20 Gets Mid-Life Facelift, Prices Start at Rs 6.99 Lakh.

Hyundai has launched the Hyundai i20 facelift in India, with a starting price of Rs 6.99 lakh. The updated hatchback features a revised front and rear end, a new interior color scheme and some new features. It is now available only with the 1.2-liter naturally aspirate petrol engine.

The Hyundai i20 facelift has been update with new front and rear bumpers, and a new grey and black dual-tone interior. It is now only available with the 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine.

The Hyundai i20 facelift gets minor cosmetic updates to the soft plastic parts of the exterior. The front grille has a new design with a prominent black surround that connects it to the headlamps.

The headlamps are now full LED units on the top-spec trim and have a revised LED daytime running lamp signature. The Hyundai logo has been reposition from the grille to the base of the bonnet and has a new 2D design.

The new Hyundai i20’s interior design remains largely unchanged from the previous model, but it does get a few subtle updates. The dashboard now has a dual-tone black and grey finish, and the top-spec trim gets semi-leatherette seat upholstery.

These changes are welcome, as the all-black interior of the outgoing i20 could make the cabin feel a bit cramped. Hyundai has also added a new physical volume knob for the touchscreen, which was previously operate by haptic touch buttons. This is a welcome improvement, as it makes it easier to adjust the volume while driving.

The new Hyundai i20 comes standard with a comprehensive list of safety features, including six airbags, ABS, EBD, ESC, hill assist control, and three-point seatbelts for all seats. It also gets a reverse parking camera, TPMS, and automatic headlamps with escort function. Hyundai is offering a three-year/1,00,000 km warranty on the i20, with the option of extended warranty.

The Hyundai i20 facelift is now available with a single petrol engine option, a 1.2-liter, four-cylinder naturally aspirate engine that can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

The engine produces 83 horsepower with the manual transmission and 88 horsepower with the CVT, and it has a peak torque of 115 Newton-meters.

The Hyundai i20 used to have a 120-horsepower, 1.0-liter, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine as an option. It was available with either a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) or a 6-speed intelligent manual transmission (IMT).
