Hyundai Creta Electric Launched: Prices Start at ₹17.99 lakh.
Hyundai officially launched the Creta Electric, its first mass-market EV in India, on January 17, with introductory prices starting at ₹17.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The electric SUV is on display at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi for interested buyers.

Key Highlights:
The Creta Electric is modeled after the standard ICE version.
The LR variant supports fast charging, taking just 58 minutes to charge from 10% to 80% using a DC charger.
Pre-bookings opened nearly two weeks ago with a token amount of ₹25,000. The Creta Electric is offered in five trims: Executive, Smart, Smart (O), Premium, and Excellence. Notably, the top three variants—Smart (O), Premium, and Excellence—offer an optional 11kW AC wall box charger at an additional cost of ₹73,000. Below is a detailed breakdown of the pricing for all variants.

Hyundai Creta Electric: Battery Options, Range, and Charging Details
Hyundai offers the Creta Electric with two battery options: a 42kWh pack and a 51.4kWh pack. The smaller battery delivers an ARAI-certified range of 390km, while the Long Range (LR) variant boasts a range of 473km. The Creta EV LR can accelerate from 0-100 kph in a claimed 7.9 seconds, outperforming the Hyundai Creta N-Line, which takes 8.9 seconds for the same sprint.

The Creta Electric is powered by a single motor positioned on the front axle, driving the front wheels. In the LR variant, the motor generates 171 hp and 255 Nm of torque, while the smaller battery option comes with a 135 hp motor.

For charging, the larger battery can go from 10% to 80% in just 58 minutes using a DC fast charger. Fully charging the battery from 10% to 100% with an 11kW AC home charger takes approximately 4 hours. Hyundai notes that these charging times are based on factors like ambient temperature, power supply, and charger specifications.

Hyundai Creta Electric: Exterior Design and Colors
The Creta Electric retains the same overall silhouette as its ICE counterpart, with a few distinctive design elements. The front bumper features pixel-like detailing, similar to Hyundai’s Ioniq models, along with aerodynamic enhancements such as a sealed grille and air dam. A segment-first feature, the Air Flap technology, is integrated into the bumper, allowing the air flaps to open and close for cooling and improved airflow. Additionally, the front camera is positioned above the ‘H’ logo, concealing the charging port behind it. The port includes a multi-color surround light and a state-of-charge (SOC) indicator visible when the car is charging.

From the side, unique EV-specific aero alloy wheels with low rolling resistance tires stand out, along with blacked-out C-pillars in dual-tone models. At the rear, updates include a redesigned bumper with pixel-like accents matching the front, a pronounced faux skid plate, and an ‘electric’ badge on the tailgate replacing the traditional variant name.

Hyundai Creta Electric: Exterior Colors, Interior Features, and Safety
The Creta Electric offers 10 color options, compared to the seven available for the standard Creta. Among these, three are matte finishes, and a new Ocean Blue metallic paint with a Black Roof is introduced. Other color options include Starry Night, Fiery Red, and Atlas White with a Black Roof.

Interior Features and Safety
Inside, the Creta Electric’s cabin closely mirrors the regular Creta, featuring modern amenities like dual 10.25-inch screens—one for infotainment and the other for instrumentation. It also boasts an 8-speaker Bose audio system, dual-zone climate control, and an auto-dimming IRVM. The central touchscreen is equipped with voice command functionality and Bluelink in-car connectivity. Notably, Hyundai has incorporated sustainable materials for the seat upholstery.

Hyundai Creta Electric: Steering, Features, and Safety
The Creta Electric features a distinctive ‘H’ embossed in Morse code on the steering wheel, a shift-by-wire stalk located behind the steering wheel on the right, and a rotary dial to switch between drive modes—Eco, Normal, and Sport. It also offers single-pedal driving (i-Pedal), vehicle-to-load (V2L) charging, and a dedicated plug under the rear bench. Additionally, in-car payment functionality allows users to pay at charging stations. The center console includes cup holders, buttons for the electronic parking brake (EPB), auto-hold, and drive modes.

The Hyundai Creta Electric enters the expanding market of midsize electric SUVs, competing with models like the Maruti Vitara, Mahindra BE6, Tata Harrier EV, and the upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser EV.
