High-performance Mercedes C 300 AMG Line arrives in India with a starting price of Rs 69 lakh.
Mercedes-Benz unveiled the all-new C 300 AMG Line in India, priced at Rs 69 lakh. This petrol-powered variant takes the top spot in the C-Class lineup, replacing the previous diesel-powered C 300d AMG Line. Additionally, Mercedes-Benz introduced fresh features throughout the C-Class and GLC SUV range.
This switch to a petrol-powered variant reflects a changing trend in the luxury sedan market. As Mercedes-Benz India CEO Santosh Iyer mentioned, nearly 70% of their sedans sold are now petrol-powered.

Heating the Competition:
The new C 300 AMG Line faces a strong competitor in BMW’s top-of-the-line 3 Series, the M340i. While slightly more expensive at Rs 72.90 lakh, the M340i packs a significantly more powerful punch with its 374hp, 3.0-liter six-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. If you’re seeking even more performance from Mercedes, their C 43 AMG sits at a steeper price tag of Rs 98.25 lakh.
What’s under the hood of the new C 300 AMG Line?
The new C 300 boasts a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine generating 258hp and 400Nm of torque. It gets an extra boost thanks to an integrated starter generator (ISG) that adds 22hp and 205Nm. Plus, an over-boost function provides a short burst of additional 27hp for about 30 seconds. Mercedes assures drivers can activate this over-boost function repeatedly until thermal limitations are reached.
The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, enabling the C 300 AMG Line to accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in 6 seconds, with a top speed of 250 kph (limited). For comparison, the previous C 300d’s 2.0-liter turbodiesel offered 265hp and a higher torque of 550Nm, but at a lower price point of Rs 62.70 lakh.
Sporty Looks Inside and Out:
As expected from the top-of-the-line C-Class, the C 300 AMG Line comes standard with the AMG Line package. This translates to sportier front and rear bumpers and AMG-inspired interior accents. It also boasts the “Night Package” for a darkened cabin aesthetic. Mercedes provides Manufaktur paint options like Patagonia Red Bright and Sodalite Blue to personalize your ride further.
Tech and Convenience Features:
The C 300 boasts exclusive features, including a top-notch Burmester 3D surround sound system, advanced digital headlights, and an augmented reality navigation system for an immersive experience. Additionally, safety is enhanced with blind spot assist and a keyless-go comfort package.
More Comfort and Safety for the C-Class and GLC
Mercedes-Benz has enhanced both the C-Class sedan and GLC SUV with additional features.
These upgrades focus on comfort and convenience for the C-Class (C 200 and C 200d models specifically). Drivers and passengers will now enjoy heated and ventilated front seats for those hot and cold days. Maneuvering tight spots is easier with the addition of a 360-degree camera system. Additionally, staying connected on the go is a breeze with six fast-charging USB-C ports. Finally, nighttime driving is improved with adaptive high beam assist that automatically adjusts the headlights for better visibility and to avoid blinding oncoming traffic.
