Great news for electric car enthusiasts in India! Kia has officially confirmed the launch of the EV9 SUV
Kia isn’t done unveiling new offerings! Fresh off a series of product updates announced earlier in May, the Korean automaker is gearing up to launch two new models before the year ends.
Kia has two exciting new launches planned for the current financial year (ending March 2025). The first is the much-anticipated EV9 electric SUV, arriving soon. Following closely behind will be the all-new generation Carnival MPV.
Kia is putting the finishing touches on the EV9, having spotted it testing on Indian roads just months ago. This electric SUV is poised to be Kia’s new top-of-the-line offering in India. It might come in 2-wheel drive (2WD) and all-wheel drive (4WD) options, with a driving range estimated around 400-500 kilometers on a single charge.
While exact features for the Indian market are under wraps, the EV9 is expected to arrive initially as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). This means it will be imported as a whole car, potentially followed by a Locally Built Unit (CKD) version depending on demand.
Feature-packed SUV anticipated. Look out for goodies like a suite of advanced driver-assistance systems (Level 2 ADAS), a dual-screen infotainment setup, connected car tech, and comfort features like adjustable second-row seats, a powered tailgate, and multi-zone climate control.
