BMW M2 CS Breaks Cover with Eye-Catching Ducktail Design.
BMW Unveils the Next-Gen M2 CS at the 2025 Villa d’Este Elegance Show.
BMW has officially introduced the latest addition to its high-performance lineup—the M2 CS—at the prestigious 2025 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. True to its ‘CS’ badge, the model emphasizes reduced weight and sharper performance compared to the standard M2 Coupe. While BMW plans to unveil full technical details on May 28, a few exciting elements have already come to light.
Standout Features of the M2 CS:
A bold ducktail spoiler adds a sporty character to the rear.
Its 3.0-litre straight-six engine is tuned to produce roughly 50 horsepower more than the regular M2.
Expected upgrades include a titanium exhaust system and finely retuned suspension for enhanced driving dynamics.
Design Tweaks Inside and Out
At first glance, the changes might be subtle, but the front end gets a refreshed grille and redesigned air vents that improve engine cooling.
The side view stands out with distinctive gold-colored alloy wheels, a hallmark detail often seen on BMW’s CS lineup.
One of the most eye-catching elements on the newly revealed BMW M2 CS is its prominent ducktail spoiler, designed to boost aerodynamic stability at high speeds. The rear also sees a more pronounced diffuser, adding both visual drama and functional performance. Step inside, and you’ll find race-inspired bucket seats upholstered in BMW M performance colors, extensive use of carbon fiber accents, and exclusive ‘CS’ badging on the seats and door sills—all reinforcing its motorsport DNA.
Engine and Performance Specs
While the complete technical breakdown will be shared on May 28, early insights suggest a serious power bump. According to reports from Autocar UK, the M2 CS is expected to produce around 530 hp and 650 Nm of torque—that’s an increase of about 50 hp and 100 Nm over the standard M2. The heart of the beast remains the familiar 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six engine, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Other performance upgrades likely include a re-engineered suspension for sharper handling, high-performance carbon ceramic brakes for better stopping power, and lightweight titanium exhausts to reduce overall weight. Interestingly, the model displayed at Villa d’Este featured an automatic transmission, hinting that—much like the CS versions of the M3 and M4—a manual option might not be offered.
