BMW 2 Series M : Bookings open in India, Launch in September 7.

BMW India has announced the launch of the BMW 2 Series M Gran Coupe M Performance Edition on September 7. The limited-edition variant will be available with the petrol engine and will be sold in limited numbers.

The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe M Performance Edition gets a number of cosmetic and performance upgrades over the standard model. These include a blacked-out grille, M Performance front lip spoiler, side skirts, and rear diffuser. The car also gets 18-inch alloy wheels and M Performance brakes.

Under the hood, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe Performance Edition is power by a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine that produces 176 bhp and 280 Nm of torque. The engine is pair with an 8-speed automatic transmission and sends power to the rear wheels.

The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe M Performance Edition is expect to  price around Rs 47 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

The car will rival the Mercedes-Benz A-Class limousine.

Speaking about the launch, Vikram Pawah, President, BMW India, said, “The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe has been a popular choice among customers in India. The M Performance Edition takes the driving experience to the next level with its sporty looks and performance upgrades.”

The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe M Performance Edition is expect to a hit among customers in India who are looking for a sporty and stylish compact sedan. The car’s performance upgrades and limited availability are sure to make it a desirable proposition.

BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe M Performance Edition bookings open at Rs 1.5 lakh.

Although, The BMW 2 Series M Performance Edition will only receive exterior cosmetic enhancements. This limited-edition model will only be available in Black Sapphire paint with contrasting silver accents on the grille, bumper, and side mirrors. It will also have an M Performance grille, gear selector, and other M-specific components.

Basically, The 220i M Performance Edition will have a dual-tone black and beige interior. M Performance Edition features expected to be similar to standard 2 Series Gran Coupe.

This means it will likely have two 10.25-inch screens, a wireless charger, head-up display, rear view camera, and dual-zone climate control. The 2 Series Gran Coupe also comes standard with six airbags and seat belts for all passengers.

Although, 2 Series M Performance Edition gets 2.0L turbo petrol, 179 hp, 280 Nm. Engine mated to 7-speed dual-clutch, 0-100kph in 7.1 sec (claimed).

M Performance Edition price to be announce Sep 7, higher than M Sport Pro (Rs 45.5 lakh).

Lastly, The 220i M Sport is price at Rs 43.50 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The 2 Series Gran Coupe only rivals the Mercedes-Benz A-Class limousine, which is price at Rs 45.80 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
