Eagerly awaited BMW 5 Series LWB arrives in India on July 24th.

Get ready for a head-to-head battle between luxury sedans! BMW is bringing the new, long-wheelbase 5 Series to India on July 24th. This extended wheelbase version promises an even more luxurious driving experience, ready to take on the competition in the Indian market. This is the first time the 5 Series will be available in this extended version in India, just like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB. Interestingly, India will be the second country in the world, after China, to get this new model.

The new, long-wheelbase (LWB) BMW 5 Series boasts an impressive size. It stretches to a whopping 5,175 millimeters long, 1,900 millimeters wide, and 1,520 millimeters tall. But the real story is in the wheelbase, measuring in at 3,105 millimeters. This extended platform makes the LWB 145 millimeters longer overall compared to the standard 5 Series, with an extra 110 millimeters dedicated to passenger comfort in the back seat.

These dimensions are based on the Chinese model. We can expect some adjustments for India, like a right-hand drive (RHD) setup and potentially slightly more ground clearance to handle different road conditions.

While the overall design of the 5 Series LWB mirrors the standard car, a closer look reveals its extended length, similar to the existing 3 Series Grand Limousine in India. Unlike the Mercedes E-Class LWB with its distinct rear quarter glass and door design, the 5 Series LWB retains the standard car’s doors.

Familiar Features, New Touches: The LWB version boasts the same stylish headlamps, taillights, and the signature illuminated kidney grille as the standard model. However, some variants might feature slightly revised front and rear bumpers for a touch of individuality.

A Subtle Detail: The 5 Series LWB sold in China gets a unique touch with an illuminated “5” emblem on the C-pillar, which is absent on the standard car. Ensures individual comfort for everyone on board.

Quilted upholstery and a dual-tone design: Create a sophisticated and stylish ambiance. Fold-down 31.1-inch display with 8K resolution and 5G compatibility: Imagine a massive cinema screen for rear-seat passengers, complete with high-speed connectivity for seamless entertainment.

Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system: Delivers immersive audio for an unforgettable entertainment experience.

We expect most of these luxurious features to be included in the India-spec model as well.
