Hitting the streets soon: Tata Altroz Racer priced from Rs 9.49 lakh
Tata Motors launched the all-new Altroz Racer, their hottest hatchback yet. Starting at Rs 9.49 lakh (ex-showroom India), it directly competes with the Hyundai i20 N Line.
This sportier Altroz boasts a tweaked version of the familiar 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine for a more exhilarating ride. Plus, it gets cosmetic upgrades on both the interior and exterior and some new features.
: The Altroz Racer packs a punch under the hood! It uses the same 1.2-liter, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine as the iTurbo, but with a significant boost. The Racer cranks out 120hp and 170Nm, a jump of 10hp and 30Nm compared to the iTurbo. This matches the power of the higher-tuned version of this engine found in other models.
The Altroz Racer gets a sportier 6-speed manual gearbox, replacing the 5-speed option in the iTurbo. There’s no automatic transmission available, but a sportier exhaust system adds to the driving experience.
Unlike its competitor, the i20 N Line, the Altroz Racer doesn’t have any upgrades to the suspension or steering system.
Replacing the i-Turbo: With the arrival of the Altroz Racer, Tata Motors has discontinued the i-Turbo range. The i-Turbo used a less powerful version (110hp) of this same engine and had a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The Altroz Racer gets a makeover to match its performance. It comes in three color options: Atomic Orange, Avenue White, and Pure Grey. Each option features a contrasting blacked-out roof and hood with white racing stripes, creating a sleek two-tone look and a sporty “floating roof” effect. Subtle updates include “Racer” badges on the front fenders and a slightly redesigned grille. The 16-inch alloy wheels remain the same as the standard Altroz.
The Altroz Racer boasts a significant interior upgrade, focusing on both comfort and technology. It features a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, seen on newer Tata SUVs, with a smoother new operating system. A new 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster keeps you informed in style.
Also , Offers segment-first ventilated front seats for those hot days, plus a 360-degree camera for tight parking situations. A voice-activated sunroof adds a touch of luxury. Safety is prioritized with six airbags and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) as standard equipment.
Sporty Touches: Red accents around the air conditioning vents and gear lever add a sporty feel to the interior. New leatherette upholstery with contrasting stitching completes the upscale look.
