Get ready for the new Maruti Suzuki Swift! Maruti Suzuki has revealed glimpses of the all-new Swift, expected to launch in India on May 9th. You can already reserve yours for just Rs 11,000, either online or at dealerships.

This is the fourth generation of the popular Swift hatchback, and it boasts a refreshed look, a more luxurious interior inspired by pricier Maruti models, and a brand-new engine.

The all-new Maruti Suzuki Swift sticks to what fans love. It keeps the familiar silhouette and curvy design but with some refinements. Think of it as a stylish upgrade rather than a complete overhaul.

Here’s a sneak peek of the exterior: expect a slightly bulbous front end and smooth, rounded surfaces throughout. Remember that the Indian version might have unique bumpers and alloy wheels compared to other regions. It’s also said to be a tad longer and slimmer than the previous Swift but with the same wheelbase for stability.

Buckle up for a fresh yet friendly feel inside the new Swift! While it’s a new interior design, you’ll find some familiar elements borrowed from Maruti’s Baleno and Fronx models. The dashboard layout might have slight tweaks, and the housing for the big 9-inch touchscreen could be different too. But core features like the infotainment system, the climate controls with toggle switches, the steering wheel, and even the door controls will feel instantly recognizable. On the safety side, expect a big jump – features like six airbags and an Electronic Stability Program (ESP) might even come standard!

The most exciting update for the new Swift might be what’s under the hood! It ditches the old K12 four-cylinder engine for a new 1.2-liter, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. Maruti Suzuki is aiming for impressive fuel efficiency, and while power and torque figures are expected to stay close to the outgoing model’s 90hp and 113Nm, there could even be mild-hybrid tech in the mix. One mystery remains: will Maruti stick with the AMT transmission or upgrade to the 6-speed torque converter found in other Maruti models? We’ll have to wait and see!

The new Swift will take on familiar challengers like the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, the Tata Taigo, and the Citroen C3.

Expect a price bump compared to the outgoing Swift, which currently ranges from Rs 6.24 lakh to Rs 8.83 lakh (ex-showroom). Interestingly, Maruti Suzuki recently increased prices of the outgoing model, possibly to strategically position the new Swift more competitively.
