BMW iX1: electrifying SUV to launch in India on September 28

The BMW iX1 is a fully electric SUV that is based on the third-generation X1. It is expect to be the most affordable BMW electric vehicle in India and it will compete with rivals such as the Volvo XC40 Recharge and Mercedes-Benz EQA.

The BMW iX1 is power by a dual-motor electric powertrain that produces a combine output of 313 horsepower and 494 Nm of torque. This gives the car a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 5.6 seconds. The iX1 is also equip with a 64.7 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that offers a claim range of up to 438 kilometers on a single charge.

The BMW iX1 is expect to be offer in a single variant in India, the xDrive30.

Variant gets all-wheel drive and features like digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof and three-zone climate control.

It is expect to price at around Rs. 60-65 lakh (ex-showroom, India) when it launches on September 28, 2023.

  • The iX1 is the first BMW electric vehicle to be built on the company’s new FAAR platform. This platform is also used for the X1 and X2 SUVs, as well as the Mini Countryman.
  • The iX1 is equip with BMW’s latest iDrive infotainment system, which features a new user interface and a variety of new features, including a cloud-based navigation system and a digital personal assistant.

BMW to launch electric SUV iX1 in India on September 28, just 8 months after releasing new X1.  This will be BMW’s fourth electric vehicle in India, joining the i4 sedan, iX SUV and i7 luxury sedan.

The BMW iX1 is an electric version of the BMW X1, BMW’s best-selling SUV in 2023. It looks similar to the X1, but has blue accents on the bumpers, side steps and grille.
