Mustang GTD: Ford's 800-HP Track-Ready Supercar.

ItFord has unveiled the Mustang GTD, a new track-ready supercar that is the most powerful car the company has ever produced. GTD: 800+ hp, 0-60 mph in < 3 sec.

The GTD has advanced performance features, like 8-speed dual-clutch, semi-active suspension, and active aerodynamics.  These features help the GTD to achieve a near-50/50 weight balance and deliver exceptional handling on both the street and the track.

Ford is targeting a sub-7-minute lap time on the Nürburgring Nordschleife with the Mustang GTD. If it achieves this goal, it will be the first American-made production car to do so.

Ford will produce the Mustang GTD in limited numbers, and it is expected to start at around $300,000. It is sure to be a popular choice for track enthusiasts and collectors alike.

Ford builds the new Mustang GTD, a track-ready supercar with carbon fiber body and aerodynamic optimization. Ford will build GTD, its most powerful road car yet, in limited numbers starting late next year.

It will sell the GTD in North America first to compete with the best European sports cars.

Ford is aiming to achieve a lap time of less than 7 minutes on the Nürburgring Nordschleife with the Mustang GTD. This would put the GTD on par with some of the fastest European supercars, such as the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, and Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series.

The Mustang GTD is the most powerful Mustang ever, with a targeted output of over 811 horsepower from its heavily reworked, supercharged V8 engine. This output surpasses even the 709-horsepower Shelby GT500, which was previously the most powerful Mustang.

The Mustang GTD’s semi-active suspension system varies spring rates and ride height. In Track mode, the ride height lowers by 40 mm. The front suspension uses a motorsport-inspired “short-long arm” setup for improved stiffness and responsiveness.

GTD rear suspension: lightweight tubular subframe, like GT3’s. Suspension control units at rear, alongside transaxle cooling system.
